[Asher has had a little too much to drink, as drowning himself in alcohol is one of the many ways in which he self medicates. There are no hunnies to hump, after all, because the girls in this place actually have taste.
He meanders uselessly in the castle hallways, shuffling from left wall to right wall, until he sees a familiar face. Following a hiccup, he points to the other and inquires all too loudly:]
Are you drunk right now?
[And, after a useless head bobble...]
No?
[Asher waltzes right over and waves a very heavy hand at the man in front of him.]
Well too bad for you... Kung Jingle.

[A while after they've spent the night in jail, Jin will receive a video from Asher that features a particularly spiny-looking cactus. It's only a few seconds, lasting only until the camera zooms in a bit closer. Jin will hear a laugh that sounds oddly familiar, one that most definitely belongs to a jerk. Beneath the playable footage is a text.]
u
Hey.
[Distance is never something Asher has been good at keeping.]
How're you holdin' up?
[But sometimes, that's for the best.]

[this message contains a copy of of the Taraxa file that Keith gave everyone + the transcript with Lloyd and all mentions of ZYMANDIS are highlighted. congratulations, Jin, you're the first person who gets his observations on this, because you had the right idea. thank god for poetry.]
You were right. It's not a person.
Seems like a funny thing to leave out of our introductory briefings, doesn't it?

[Asher leans against the railing, early for what feels like the first time.
Something about his countenance is different today, and from the side, even the line of his jaw seems sharper. He's clad in his typical training get up, the black sleeveless undershirt and the tight pants, but everything looks clean, pressed. His arms are folded over his chest as he stares intensely at nothing in particular.
A new dawn, a new day, and yet he's still reeling from the consequences of what happened weeks ago, because he's finally been forced to think about it.
He flexes a gloved finger arbitrarily, wincing slightly at the pain. Thankfully, his posture hides the gesture, which is good because he can hear footsteps, identifiable ones.
Jin.]
God, it's so fucking early.
[What bullshit.
He's been awake for hours.]

[Asher makes this call as a result of this conversation.]
'Suuuuuuup, biatch?

Hey man.
[This is a message he almost considered not sending, which is why there was a considerable delay. He couldn't apologize to Jin publicly on the network, because he didn't want to out him accidentally.]
I screwed up, big time.
[A call would sound more sincere, but that's part of the problem.
If Asher had let Jin know in person or through audio about this, the monk would immediately be able to tell that something was up.]
So don't be afraid to take some time to yourself, okay? Like, I know we were planning on buddying up this mission, but...
If you didn't want to room with me anymore, I'd totally get it.

Worthy son of Kung - it is Achilles, son of Peleus, who calls upon you seeking advice about the customs of this land to which we shall soon be sent. Forgive me if what I shall ask seems rude: I mean not to pry into the matters a man keeps private, yet my curiosity burns within my breast.
I'm sorry
I thought I'd update you with the results of my own inquiry.
[Which took more time to be productive than he may have hoped for, but nevertheless as Jin has done, he attaches a list of main points for perusal]
Speaking with Keith led me to wonder what baseline rules exist...and apparently as a team, we ought to have established that among ourselves. That may have been good to know earlier on.
They seem confident Oska is safe, but I admit without specifics, I'm a little dubious. "It just is" seems overconfident, but then magitek is beyond my experience back home. And it seems our uncanny luck doesn't raise any flags...
